In order to record your mix using the Audio Recorder of TRAKTOR (SCRATCH) PRO while using External Mixer Mode, please do the following: Connect the recording output (REC OUT) of your external mixer to Input 7/8 (Channel D) of the AUDIO 8 DJ. Make sure the AUDIO 8 DJ is selected as your Audio Device in TRAKTOR's Preferences Audio Setup. Nov 01, 2015 From there you record your mix. Hi guys, This is probably an annoying question but I am an old skool DJ brought up on Vinyl and was lucky enough to upgrade to an S8 this week and this alone has blown my mind to the style of mixing I can now do but my question is this, simply, How do I record a live mix using the S8 and Traktor using a mac version OSThanksHit the record (rec) button in Traktor? Somewhere at the top middle section (where battery life indicator and such are – on the right of that if I remember correctly)>What you are saying is that the rec button in the software is not reacting? The thing with questions is, the more information you give the better your fellow readers can help.If the question is “how do I record” with no additional info like “I tried the record button, but it’s greyed out” or “I can’t find the record button” or … well, you get my drift, then we’ll start with the most obvious answer, won’t we?For the recording function to work on DJ software you do have to use internal mixer mode, as otherwise the master output is put together in your controller and not in your software. And the software won’t know how to record the master output. I don’t know the S8 well enough, but it being Traktor gear, I am assuming that using internal Traktor mixing mode is the default setting.Alternatively, you can always tap the master output from your controller, things like the Reloop Tape:
http://www.reloop.com/reloop-tape
and the new DJ Tech usb-stick recorder (see article Best Of The Rest at Frankfurt over on the blog) will allow you to record anything on any gear (so you could even use it when playing out on a regular CDJ/DJM club setup if you’d want.Sounds like you were using the loop recorder instead of the mix recorder.- This reply was modified 4 years, 11 months ago by .

Pioneer today announced the DJM-750, the latest addition to its four-channel club performance mixer range and a clear upgrade from the DJM-700. It boasts new effects innovations, while retaining the digital DJ-friendly built-in four-in/four-out USB audio interface and full Midi control, as featured on its similar bigger brother, the Pioneer DJM-850. A new “Boost Colour FX” knob adds a second effect to the currently enabled Sound Colour effect, which uniquely allows DJs to change FX parameters depending upon how fast the knob is twisted, and a vinyl brake effect has been added to the beat FX options.
Pioneer says the built-in audio interface works with “DVS systems”, but there is no mention of onboard compatibility with Traktor Scratch, as the DJM-850 has. However, Pioneer DJ gear is getting increasingly more integrated Traktor HID functionality without the need for traditional timecode, so maybe this is less an issue than it might previously have been, especially when the unit is paired with, say, a pair of Traktor-friendly Pioneer CDJ-850 media players.
As befits a pro club mixer, its basic spec is good: There are four audio channels, one mic channel, master / booth / record outs, and FX send/return, and the audio interface is the same quality as that of the flagship DJM-900nexus. The DJM-750 will be available in black or silver from June at a suggested retail price of £839 / €999.
